How much did 3 weeks in Portugal cost?
We departed Malta on January 24, arrived in Portugal later that day, and stayed until February 13. For the purpose of budgeting we are including any costs from January 24 onward, including the flight to Portugal. The expenses outlined below are for 2 people and are in United States dollars (USD).

We were fortunate, our flights from Malta to Portugal were only $48 per person!
Accommodation

The entirety of our time was at AirBnBs.
Food (restaurants, grocery store, snacks, etc.)

In Portugal we split our time between eating our and preparing meals at our AirBnB.
Activities/Entertainment
$518.47
This included things like exploring the Douro Valley in a 4×4, a sparkling wine tour, visiting the Lello Library in Porto, a fado show in Coimbra, the Lisbon Aquarium, a walking city tour, and entry fees.
Miscellaneous
$53.30
Bathroom supplies, umbrellas, allergy medicine, donations, etc.

While these are costs associated with our travels, they are not country-specific, which is why they are not included in this expense report.

You seem to have had an amazing time. I’m so sorry we didn’t get to meet up in Portugal, it would have been fun to hear from you directly. I think the RTW reset is a great idea and I’m looking forward to hearing what’s next for you. Whatever it is, be sure to keep telling the stories.
